• Raven Haven: A New Residency Program by Jai Arun Ravine

Raven Haven is a new residency program, currently in its pilot stage, that supports the intersection of creative and social justice practices, solitude and reflection, and healing home. We are located on Haudenosaunee land in Charleston, West Virginia in Jai Arun Ravine’s house. One resident at a time (or a small group of 2-3 people) will have their own private room and studio space, and will share the house’s common spaces with Jai. Residents will have the opportunity to collaborate with Jai on meals or projects if desired, or the space to work solo.

Our vision is to prioritize offering the space to queer / trans / gender non-conforming / artists / activists of color who are from West Virginia or Central Appalachia, including indigenous and undocumented people. We hope to reach a point where we can offer scholarships and stipends; in the meantime we’re looking for folks who are able to offer rent and food money in exchange for the space. We invite individuals working in a variety of artistic, academic, activist, or food justice practices to participate in the pilot stage for a period of three days, one week, or one month, meals provided, for a sliding scale fee.
