• Angel Dominguez and Melissa Mack at The Other Fabulous Reading Series

On Friday, June 16th, The Other Fabulous Reading Series returns for a very special night of performance, meditations, and poetics.

Three people will be doing things, Elisabeth Houston, Angel Dominguez, and Melissa Mack. It will likely be a hands-on participitory event.

    Friday June 16th
Doors at 7:30, reading at 8.
    The Long Haul Infoshop
    3124 Shattuck Ave (Berkeley)

Elisabeth Houston, who's coming up from LA, will perform "baby."

“baby” or “jenny lowenberg” or _________ or “HEY BABY!” is a superhero villain who roams the planet trying to ad-dress / or re-dress / or un-dress the (extra)ordinary violence of racism & ableism & capitalism & nationalism - every fucking -ism through the mutant languages of po-etrees & vide-ios & (live) pre-form!ance. XOXO Come watch BABY, pretty please - (you can always say no.)

Angel Dominguez will give a poetry reading.

Angel Dominguez is a Latinx poet and performance artist; the author of Desgraciado (Econo Textual Objects, 2017), and Black Lavender Milk (Timeless Infinite Light, 2015). His work can be found or forthcoming in Berkeley Poetry Review, Brookyln Magazine, Elderly, Eleven Eleven, FENCE, NY Tryant, Queen Mobs Teahouse, Spiral Orb, and other places. Follow him on Twitter @dadelionglitch or irl the redwoods, or ocean.

Melissa Mack will lead us in Sonic Meditations

Sonic Meditations @ The Long Haul will be a participatory experiment in listening and improvisational vocalizing, after Pauline Oliveros. “All that is required is a willing commitment to the given conditions,” wrote Pauline, who died last year. The given conditions fucking suck. But what happens if we commit to being with them so as to design resistances to them? If, by understanding the conditions, we create counter-conditions to meet our ever-generative desires and needs? In other words, we'll make noise/music for fun.
